On Thursday 30th of January, PAG is delighted to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for Prince Albert Community Trust’s first high school, opening September 2021. In 2016, PAG assisted Prince Albert Community Trust in writing and submitting an application to the DfE for a brand new 11-18 free school, to help address the growing need for secondary school places in Birmingham and to offer a 3-18 education pathway for PACT’s existing primary pupils. We worked with PACT to assess the need for their school and shape the vision for their first venture into secondary education. The application was approved in 2017 and so the journey began.
After extensive consideration of the site’s location, PACT announced that PA High would be located at Holford Drive, Perry Barr, near to the site that will be used for the Athletes’ Village during the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
The new PA High School will be a pillar of the community, having already gained extensive support from a number of partners across the city including The King Edwards Foundation, Shireland Collegiate Academy and the Holford Drive Community Sports Hub (HDCSH). PACT’s community engagement will ensure that PA High provides high-quality and fully rounded secondary education for children and young people in Birmingham.
Congratulations to all at PACT!
