My Experience as a Kickstarter

In February 2021, Premier Advisory Group (PAG) was approved by the DWP as a Kickstart Gateway. Having helped dozens of schools access new staff, adding to our own team via Kickstart was a no-brainer. Since joining the company, our Kickstarters have made a valuable contribution to all areas of the business and we are proud that our very first Kickstarter, Hannah, is progressing to the next stage of her career journey. As Hannah’s placement draws to a close, she shared the following thoughts on her experiences at PAG and of the Kickstart Scheme...

Hannah's Kickstart Journey

‘Having graduated from Swansea University with a degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Cognitive Neuroscience, I aspired to secure a graduate role in the technology sector. Applying for data analyst jobs was disheartening since most companies required a mathematics, computer science, or physics degree, as well as two years of work experience.

Fortunately, I discovered the Kickstart Scheme and had a brilliant work coach who matched me with a Data Assistant role at Premier Advisory Group (PAG). I received comprehensive support from the DWP and PAG, and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to develop new skills and broaden my knowledge of the education sector. I received training in business, technology, data analysis, and developed skills in communication and teamwork.

My journey at PAG has been unforgettable, and the company’s encouraging environment has allowed me to excel at data tasks. The Kickstart Scheme helped me to gain more confidence in my abilities and it has fast tracked my development. Working at PAG has been an invaluable steppingstone which helped me to secure my dream job in the technology sector. I am very excited for the next steps in my career, but I am sad to be leaving such a welcoming and supportive environment at a great company.
